REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Oil Seal, Crankshaft — Front

Removal

  1. Remove the crankshaft pulley (6312). Refer to Crankshaft Damper in the Removal and Installation portion of this section.

  1. Using Lube Tube Remover T86P-70001-A and Impact Slide Hammer T59L-100-B, carefully remove the crankshaft front seal (6700).

Installation

  1. Throughly clean crankshaft front seal mounting surface.

  1. Coat the new crankshaft front seal with Multi-Purpose Grease D0AZ-19584-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESB-M1C93-A.

  1. NOTE: It may be necessary to rotate Front Crank Seal Replacer T94T-6700-AH to align with crankshaft key (6B316).

    Install the crankshaft front seal using Front Crank Seal Replacer T94T-6700-AH, Thread Adapter T94T-6379-AH3, Driver Sleeve T79T-6316-A4 (Part of T79T-6316-A), and Driver/Puller Screw T79T-6316-A1 (Part of T79T-6316-A). Install crankshaft front seal until fully seated.

  1. Check and refill crankcase oil.

  1. Install crankshaft damper. Refer to Crankshaft Damper in the Removal and Installation portion of this section.
