DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING

Is fuse OK?

Yes	No
GO to A4.	GO to A2.

Does fuse fail again?

Yes	No
GO to A3.	GO to A4.

Remove the 15A CIGAR fuse.
Disconnect cigar lighter connector.
Measure the resistance of Circuit 40 (LB/W) wire between RH terminal of 15A CIGAR fuse 16 holder and ground.

Is resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes	No
SERVICE Circuit 40 (LB/W) wire between instrument panel, IP fuse panel and cigar lighter knob and element.	REPLACE 15A CIGAR fuse 16. GO to A4.

Disconnect cigar lighter connector.
Measure the voltage of the Circuit 40 (LB/W) wire at the cigar lighter connector.

Is voltage greater than 10 volts?

Yes	No
GO to A5.	SERVICE Circuit 40 (LB/W) wire between instrument panel, IP fuse panel and cigar lighter knob and element.

Disconnect cigar lighter connector.
Measure the resistance of the Circuit 57 (BK) wire between the cigar lighter connector and ground.

Is resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes	No
REPLACE cigar lighter knob and element.	SERVICE Circuit 57 (BK) wire between cigar lighter knob and element and ground.

Is fuse OK?

Yes	No
GO to B4.	GO to B2.

Does fuse fail again?

Yes	No
GO to B3.	GO to B4.

Remove the 25A POWER POINT fuse.
Disconnect power point connector.
Measure the resistance of Circuit 964 (DB/LG) wire between RH terminal of 25A POWER POINT fuse 9 holder and ground.

Is resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes	No
SERVICE Circuit 964 (DB/LG) wire between instrument panel, IP fuse panel and power point.	REPLACE 25A POWER POINT fuse 9. GO to B4.

Disconnect power point connector.
Measure the voltage of the Circuit 964 (DB/LG) wire at the power point connector.

Is voltage greater than 10 volts?

Yes	No
SERVICE Circuit 964 (DB/LG) wire between instrument panel, IP fuse panel and power point.	SERVICE Circuit 57 (BK) wire between power point and ground.
