Removal
NOTE: Some applications may have screws in place of nuts.
Disconnect battery ground cable(s).
In passenger compartment, remove nut from the bottom of heater air plenum chamber (18471) just to the right of heater core cover (18B300).
In engine compartment, remove electrical connector from blower motor (18527) by pushing on connector tab and pulling connector off blower motor. Remove connector from heater blower motor switch resistor (18591).
Remove bolt from heater plenum chamber case (18A484) (upper right side of engine compartment).
Remove three attaching nuts from the heater plenum chamber case.
Pull the heater plenum chamber case away from the dash panel.
Installation
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module (PCM) (12A650) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
Follow removal procedures in reverse order.
