Steering Column Alignment

There is no alignment adjustment of the steering column and coupling shaft. Alignment is maintained by the slip-joint coupling shaft attaching the steering column to the steering gear (3504). If misalignment exists, check for indications of damage, such as bent or displaced components. For proper steering column installation, follow the appropriate Removal and Installation procedure described at the beginning of this section.
