Removal
Remove the return hose from the steering pump.
Drain the steering fluid.
Release the tension from the drive belt. Remove the belt from steering pump pulley. For additional information, refer to Section 03-05.
Remove the bolts from the fan shroud and rotate the shroud to provide access for pump pulley removal. For additional information, refer to Section 03-03.
Remove the pulley from the pump, using special tool T69L-10300-B.
Remove the pressure line from the pump and cap the line.
Remove the mounting bolts from the pump and remove the pump from the vehicle.
Installation
Install the steering pump to the engine. Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
Remove the Teflon® seal from the pressure line and install a new seal, using special tool D90P-3517-A3 or equivalent.
Install the pressure line to the pump. Tighten the line to 26 Nm (19 lb-ft).
CAUTION: Do not apply in and out pressure on the shaft. Pressure will damage the internal rotating group.
NOTE: The pulley face must be flush, within 0.25 mm (0.010 inch), with the end of the pump shaft.
Install the pulley, using special tool T65P-3A733-C.
Install the fan shroud. Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). For additional information, refer to Section 03-03.
Install the return hose.
Position the belt around the steering pump pulley and install the belt. For additional information, refer to 03-05.
Fill and purge the power steering system. For additional information, refer to Section 11-00.
Start the engine and check for leaks. For additional information, refer to Section 11-00.
