CLEANING AND INSPECTION

Caliper

Remove any accumulated debris, oil, grease or dirt from the disc brake caliper (2B120). Clean all metal parts with isopropyl alcohol. Then, clean out and dry the grooves and passageways with compressed air. Make sure that caliper bore and component parts are thoroughly clean and dry prior to assembly. Avoid contamination of the brake shoes and linings (2001).

 CAUTION: Do not hone the caliper bore. Replacement caliper pistons (2196) and seals are not available for caliper bores that have been honed.

Before assembly of the disc brake caliper, make the following inspections:
