To disassemble and assemble the differential case (4204), remove and install the differential ring gear and pinion (4209) and the differential pinion bearing (4621) assemblies, using the same procedures as the conventional rear axle. Refer to Section 05-02G.
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the differential bearings (4221) from the differential case unless they are damaged. If the differential bearings remain on the differential case during repair, keep them clean and free from foreign material.
To remove and install the differential clutch spring (4214), differential side gears (4236) and differential clutch packs (4947), refer to Clutch Pack Preload Adjustment in the Adjustments portion of this section.
