REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Engine Oil Cooler

 

Removal

  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Section 03-03.

  1. Remove the marmon clamp from the turbocharger exhaust outlet pipe.

  1. Raise vehicle.

  1. Remove the oil filter (6731).

  1. Remove the engine block heater electrical connector.

  1. Remove the two left engine mount to bracket bolts.

  1. Remove the oil cooler front header retaining bolts.

  1. Remove the oil cooler rear header retaining bolts.

  1. Reposition the engine assembly using a suitable jack.

  1. Remove the oil cooler (6A642) and gaskets from vehicle.

Installation

  1. Install the engine oil cooler, rear gasket and three rear bolts to snug.

  1. Install the oil cooler front header gasket and two retaining bolts. Tighten bolts to 32 Nm (24 lb-ft).

  1. Lower the engine in its original position.

  1. Install two engine mount to bracket bolts, tighten bolts to standard Torque Specification listed at the end of this section.

  1. Tighten the three oil cooler rear header retaining bolts to 19 Nm (14 lb-ft).

  1. Install the oil filter.

  1. Connect the engine block heater electrical connector.

  1. Lower vehicle.

  1. Refill the engine cooling system. Refer to Section 03-03.

  1. Refill the engine oil.
