Removal
Partially drain the engine cooling system.
Remove the upper radiator hose clamps and upper radiator hose (8260).
Disconnect the radiator coolant recovery reservoir hose at radiator (8005).
CAUTION: Fan clutch has right-hand thread. Remove by turning nut counterclockwise.
Remove the fan and clutch assembly using Fan Clutch Nut Wrench T83T-6312-B and Fan Clutch Pulley Holder T94T-6312-AH. Set fan and clutch assembly in fan shroud (8146).
Remove the fan shroud screws.
Remove the fan shroud and fan and clutch assembly.
Loosen the water pump pulley bolts.
Remove the drive belt (8620).
Remove the water pump pulley bolts and water pump pulley (8509).
Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT sensor) (12A648).
Disconnect the heater hose and clamp from water pump (8501).
Remove water pump bolts.
Remove water pump and water pump housing gasket (8507).
Clean gasket surfaces.
Installation
Install the water pump and water pump housing gasket.
Install the water pump bolts and tighten bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
Install the heater hose and clamp to the water pump.
Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor.
Install the water pump pulley and start the water pump pulley bolts.
Install the drive belt.
Tighten the water pump pulley bolts to 16-24 Nm (12-18 lb-ft).
Install the fan shroud, and fan and clutch assembly.
Install the fan shroud screws. Tighten screws to 5-8 Nm (44-71 lb-in).
CAUTION: Fan clutch has right-hand thread. Install by turning nut clockwise.
Install the fan and clutch assembly using Fan Clutch Nut Wrench T83T-6312-B and Fan Clutch Pulley Holder T94T-6312-AH.
Install the radiator coolant recovery reservoir hose to radiator.
Install the upper radiator hose and clamps.
Refill and bleed the engine cooling system. Refer to Section 03-03.
