The inflatable lumbar support system is composed of the front seat back pad support system.
Seat Back Pad
The front seat back pad support system consists of a seat back control switch, front seat back pad adjuster (65500), front seat back pad adjusting pump (65530) and motor assembly, related wiring harness and plastic tubing.
During the inflate mode, the front seat back pad adjusting pump pumps air through front seat back pad adjusting hose (65528) to the switch check valve. The air is then routed through a separate hose to the pad located at the seat back. Except for the pad, all components are located at or under the seat cushion frame.
The switch performs three functions. First, it turns the motor and front seat back pad adjusting pump on. Second, it acts as a one-way check valve for air passage to the front seat back pad adjuster. Once the front seat back pad adjuster is inflated and the switch returns to normal mode, the check valve closes and prevents air in front seat back pad adjuster from leaking out. Third, in the deflate mode, it opens the check valve and allows the air to leak out and thus deflate the front seat back pad adjuster. In this mode the front seat back pad adjusting pump does not operate.
NOTE: The longer nipple on the switch (located at the center of the switch body) should always be connected to the front seat back pad adjusting hose leading to the front seat back pad adjuster. The shorter nipple on the switch body connects to the front seat back pad adjusting pump. If this order is reversed, the front seat back pad adjuster will not hold air pressure.
